Great night at the Junkyard Blues!

Hello Members!

A huge thank you to everyone that turned out to last night’s Society event at the Junkyard Blues. Your participation both here and in-world are what make Society different from other profile sites and we truly appreciate your time and company. There were a large number of new faces in the crowd as well so “welcome” to those who were visiting us. It was great to have you with us and we hope you had fun and will visit us again soon.

DJ Jewel rocked the night away with one of the best mixes I’ve heard in a long time and we are very appreciative of her efforts to entertain us all. Being a fan of rock and roll I very much enjoyed the incredible mix that had me banging my head while trying to grab pics or add people to group. Thanks Jewel!

I hope that you all enjoyed the location of the party. The Junkyard Blues is a fun place with a lot to offer. In addition to the information provided in last week’s Feature Article (see archived articles) I wanted to provide this information about one of the various charity functions that the Junkyard Blues supports.

On September 8th and 9th Junkyard Blues participated in the Jam, a weekend-long live music and DJ marathon to benefit Relay For Life and the MS Society. As one of the host sims for the event, Junkyard Blues carried the live stream continuously from the main venue while many group members devoted their weekend to raising lindens in the charity boxes that were place at the club. Out of a total of 563,734 L the junkyard collected 210,914 L, most of it from their own members. Kiff and Dina asked me to mention how much this charity weekend made them feel a part of a family at the Junkyard and how much they appreciate the daily efforts of the hosts and the DJs and all the other Blues Dawgs who have been so supportive of the club.

So let’s hear it for the Junkyard Blues and be sure to pay them a visit from time to time.

And finally, we are hard at work organizing the next Society event. So stay tuned for news to come!

Pics for this event can be seen in the Group called Society Functions.
